Professional banking career, spanning over sixteen years in the financial industry, having worked in the entire spectrum of financial risk management functions, culminating in core competency as a professional in enterprise-wide risk management. In his current position, Rodrigue has been instrumental in organizing a seamless operation to implement first class risk management solutions and have spearheaded the implementation process of the Basel II/III in all their ramifications within the Group. As a risk and strategy specialist, his task is to lead the project of development of the Group’s long-term strategy and business plans, develop corporate governance guidelines, set-up industry best-practice-led risk management framework and is responsible to establish effective risk and capital management policies. This is alongside streamlining quantitative risk management for economic capital and stress testing, conducting portfolio analysis and institutional risk assessment, performing risk reviews and preparing risk reporting dashboards submitted to the risk committees and to the Board of Directors. Rodrigue served as Risk Analyst in other Banks where he had clear fingerprints on the early bird preparations for the compliance with the Basel II capital accord. Ensured close follow-up on new banking regulations, and participated effectively in the implementation of Internal Ratings-Based risk rating systems. Experience encompassed credit risk domains for corporate, SME, retail, investment and private banking; Market risk including treasury and liquidity risk and operational risk. Rodrigue has participated in dozens of international workshops on banking supervision, risk management and corporate governance. He possesses experience of liaison with regulators, industry peers and banking experts, and is a frequent guest speaker and experienced lecturer in numerous universities and major international conferences and workshops, covering a variety of areas of his expertise, and is often quoted in the media. Rigorous academic credentials, INSEAD Alumnus, Rodrigue graduated from the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme (AMP), holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance, has a Bachelor degree in Finance and in Business Administration from UQÀM in Canada and earned several degrees and international professional certifications. Rodrigue is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
