Matt is the lead author if the CIPP (Certified International Procurement Professional) program and has been working in Procurement related roles for 20 years. Matt has consistently demonstrated his ability to make a material difference to an Organization through the effective application of Strategic Procurement. Matt began his Procurement Career working for a number of well known, FTSE100, UK Manufacturing Companies. He rapidly progressed his career to become Programme Director at the fastest growing FTSE250 Company in the UK at the age of 32. The company was growing both through Acquisition and Internal Organic Growth. Matt’s role was identifying potential Companies for Acquisition, completion of Due Diligence, Building Business Development Plans, Financial Modelling, Negotiation and Acquisition. Once acquired Matt integrated the new Organizations into the Core Business and developed them in line with the pre-acquisition plans. Between starting his career as a Trainee Buyer and becoming Programme Director, Matt held a number of key Procurement roles. These roles included; Management of the Outsourcing of one FTSE100 Companies Supply Chain to another FTSE100 company – an industry first; dramatically changing the face of the UK Insurance Industry Supply Chain and the introduction of Commodity based Procurement for a large UK defense contractor. Matt has experience of working in Procurement in; Manufacturing; Aerospace; Defence; Financial Services; Construction and Outsourcing. Matt sees Procurement as a process that can be successfully applied to any organization through the understanding and application of the Key Procurement Principles. Matt has been an Independent Consultant for over eight years offering his Procurement Expertise to organizations on a Consultancy basis and helping develop others through Procurement training courses.
