Hilmar Wege is an experienced program and security manager and renowned expert in the fields of project and risk management, business analysis, PMO, and management consulting. He has 30 years of professional experience in managing military and industrial programs – most notably, until 2020 he fulfilled a senior management role in a National Security program in the Middle East. Hilmar holds a Global Executive Master of Business Administration (GEMBA) degree from SKEMA Business School, located in Lille, France. Furthermore, he is one of very few individuals in the world who hold the prestigious Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential, which the Project Management Institute (PMI) awards only to an elite group of professionals with a track record in successful project and program management. After his first career in the Finance industry, Hilmar started his second career in 1999 as Commissioned Officer in the German Armed Forces, leading a specialized unit tasked with missions in international environments. In 2010, Hilmar shifted his career towards the Aerospace & Defense industry working at management level with the Saudi Ministry of Interior and other Saudi governmental entities, with a focus on security and academic education programs, in cooperation with European technical colleges and universities. Over the years his role evolved towards a stronger focus on Vision 2030 and related Learning & Development initiatives, due to the increasing demand for expertise in designing and managing programs for specialist roles in the government, military, and civilian sector. The main focus of these initiatives was Knowledge Transfer within or external to the respective institutions and organizations. In 2022, during his professional tenure as Director Risk Consulting, he led a strategic Security project, forming part of one of Saudi Arabia’s most prestigious Giga programs, in the tourism sector.
